well ive always heard about how good transmission is supposed to be for torrents, but i got it, and its incredibly slow. Normally just on lime wire pro i will be getting about 300-400kb/s but on transmission im getting 35KB/s if im lucky. Ive been downloading only torrents with large amounts of seeds and its still doing this. Any advice?

Have you checked in the Settings that the port you're using is open? Transmission does seem to act oddly with some torrents, I had a problem not so long ago that it wouldn't download a torrent at all, but Azureus had no problems.
It is quite nippy when it works however.
