Transmission ports fluctuating between open and stealth

Hey This is actually my first mac. Bought it yesterday.

But I am familiar with setting up networks and forwarding ports. So I have my d-link 624 router forwarding my designated port on both TCP and UDP and I have Transmission listening on that port but the status will teeter back and forth between "open" (green light) and "port is stealth" (red light).

Am I missing something or is this fairly normal?
