Transmission problems!!! helps plz

does anyone know why my transmission starts downloading, hits about 150 kb/sec then goes down to 0 in about 5 seconds... it takes 3-5 minutes before the downloading starts again... something is terribly wrong

so annoying... does anybody know anything that could help me with this?

Is your incoming port open if you use a router?

How many peers are you connecting to?

Is your ISP throttling BitTorrent traffic?

How is your upload speed?

3 files connected to about 5 peers whenever it starts downloading... each one prolly downloads at 50kbs but it only downloads for a few secs before it stops for 5 minutes

my upload is 20

Some ISPs analyze the outgoing packets for your connection, and if the are P2P related, they get de-prioritized, which kills download speeds. After 5 minutes does dowload speed go back to normal and stay there, or does it happen over and over again?

What is your maximum number of connections? Does your router have logging enabled? Does the same thing happen if you're not using your router?

donno yet, havent tried not using my router.

its just weird because until like 1 week ago there was no problem at all... i havnet changed anything w/ my internet or anything. i just figured it was a transmisison problem ad we'd get a new patch to fix it up

I'd try reducing the number of connections. I'm quite happy with the speeds I get with 100/50.
