Transmission won't open in 10.4.9

I just updated to 10.4.9 and have the newest version of transmission (1.42) and it won't open. The icon bounces once in the dock and then stops. Any suggestions?

It looks as though Transmission is not compatible with your current OS. Here is a quote from the Transmission website:
"Mac OS X

Transmission-1.42.dmg

OS X 10.5 or later is strongly recommended.
OS X 10.4 users need 10.4.11 with Security Update 2008-002. "

Is there a reason you're only using 10.4.9?

Alright, I just upgraded to 10.4.11 and the new transmission (1.42) still won't open. I try ro open it, it bounces once in the dock and then closes. What's going on here?

you have the security update as well?

If so try deleting the preference files.
