In the first couple of beta's the control center, notification center etc were slightly transparent, then that disappeared and its just a boring bold colour.
Earlier on i restored to the GM, and my iCloud back up wasn't working so i went back to Beta 6 and updated to the GM instead.
But when i restored the GM as new everything was transparent like the first Betas, but the GM i updated in iTunes it was just a plain black etc.

Where am i going from here? it's these little things that annoy me lol, any help would be appreciated.

It's transparent for me on my 4S, the way it has always been throughout the beta process.

Have you checked the contrast setting in accessibility settings to make sure it's off.
