Transparency of PNG icon

I have a PNG with transparent Bg and I want to set this as an icon for one of my drives.

However, when I paste it into the Info panel the BG is set to white and not transparent.

Anyone know how to do this?

Try using CandyBar.

Alternatively, try opening it in Photoshop or Pixelmator and resaving it to a new file.
