Transparency support for photos?

I exported all of my cover artwork from my movies and TV shows to jpegs. I cropped to corners of the artwork and made some adjustments to suit my visual taste. I have to have transparency in the files so I saved them out as png files. SOME of the files display properly when synched to the ATV but some of them have solid white backgrounds instead of the transparency.

Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong here?
