Transparent case

i'm not sure how possible it would be to remove apple bumper buttons and use them with this case, but if so then it would be an ideal case.

I'm waiting for my glow in the dark edge wrap from icolorwrap.com and your case is almost what i'm looking for.
Ideally, i would like a crystal clear (not frosted or slightly off clear, but CRYSTAL) bumper, but so far, i cannot find any!!

FYI the sleep/wake button on those cases are impossible to touch! seriously, I got the exact same case for free, I have to mash the darn bumper in just to lock the phone....

I don't know which Case-Mate case you were looking at. I bought a Case-Mate Barely There case in clear for my friend. The sides are transparent.

As iphone1105 said, the lock button is a little hard to press, requires a bit more pressure than the Apple Bumpers, but personally I don't see as being impossible.
LOL Impossible was a bad word choice on my part! How about, "a tad more difficult then it should be". Comprimise?

Despite the "tad more difficult" sleep/wake button issue, it is a good case! I like that its clear, that TPU material is really great!

Got one of these also. Fits great but I can't access the volume buttons on mine. They are so deeply recessed you can hardly get to them. There is also the same problem as the Apple bumper with accessories having access to that bottom port.
...that's why i wondered if with a little surgery you could replace the rubber buttons with apple bumper buttons. if so then a mediocre case would become ideal.
Monoprice.com has a couple of TPU cases (smoke and clear) which are transparent on the side. They are $3 total including shipping. The only problem I'm seeing is the watermarking similar to the images in the following post (haven't tried the baby powder trick since it doesn't bother me):
