Transplant Air Superdrive into MacBook?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody has taken apart the MacBook Air external superdrive and seen what kind of drive was inside. The superdrive inside my MacBook has died and replacement drives are more expensive than a brand new external superdrive! I was thinking of buying an external superdrive and installing it into my macbook. Does anybody know if this will work or not?
