Hey, so i got an old 2012 quad-core mini which works great, and I was thinking of having a setup I can carry when I need to. I'm a musician and also do sound art installation, so it makes perfect sense to not have a laptop for this application (a laptop is hotter, noisier, less stable and there's always the risk of someone from the staff closing the lid for no reason, which is always bad and results in you getting a phonecall at 7 am. actually happened to me several times). Besides this it could sometimes be an actual laptop replacement for gigs or recording sessions. only downside is there's no battery in case someone unplugs your gear.
I was wondering if anybody uses their mini as a transportable setup in this fashion.
I was thinking of buying a small portable FHD screen like this
and a logitech 380 I'd use with an apple trackpad I own (or even maybe a mini keyboard for exhibitions)
is there some kind of small form factor ups I could hook that up to?
maybe an actual mac mini pouch to go with it? It'd still would have to fit in a bagpack preferably.
As an everyday computer, the thermal headroom over a laptop and the silence that goes with it is really precious. just throwing it out there, if you have any experience with this kind of setup or some ingenuous rig you'd like to share.
