Trash Can error code -8003

Hello
I tried to delete the files that TimeMachine had backed ups. When I tried to empty the trash can. I received a message the operation could not be completed because of an unexpected error. Error code -8003.
How can I solve this problems? Currently I am not able to empty any of the files.
