Hi,

My trash in the dock does not update it's icon from being empty to having papers in it when I throw files into it.

Really, it's starting to annoy me a bit

Do you know, if there is any solution for this?

Sometimes the trash doesn't get fully emptied. I don't know specifically why--I'm sure others do--but if you look at the list view of the trash folder, you may see things still there with 0 bytes. I usually just dump them on the desktop and it empties the folder--sometimes takes a few times.

There really aren't any files in it. At least list view does not show anything. Thanks for your help anyway :)

Try repairing permissions with Disk Utility.

Actually, I just read about that tip and did it. It actually seems to be working. Thank you very much. I will try and see for the next few days, if my trash will now behave normally
