Hi,

My Trash is starting to act weird. When ever I drop files or folders on top of it to trash them it asks me if I'm sure that I'll delete the files/folders and that it will be permanently. So the files are not put into the Trash but removed right away.

Does anyone know a fix for this?

The Trash is a bit funky sometimes - you've discovered one of its odd quirks. If the hidden folders it uses aren't writable to you, you'll get this problem.

It has worked fine. Is there any way to make it writeable again?

The method I recommend, if you're not fond of the Terminal (which most people aren't), is to install the hiddenfiles Dashboard widget, then turn display of hidden files on. Once that's done, find a folder called .Trash in your user folder. Get Info on it. There, go to Sharing and Permissions and verify that you can write to it and that it is not locked.
