Hi All,

I hope you can help me, here's the issue: I use SD Cards as portable storage between 2 or 3 computers, 1 Mac, 2 PC... When I use my Mac to delete a file from the SD Card here's what happens:
1) the file is actually moved to a hidden directory ".trashes"
2) no space is freed on the SD Card by doing this (of course)
3) I can't seem to find a way to empty the trashbin individually for that volume, ie: in order to free up space on the SD card, I lose "undelete" information for my hard drive...

If I could choose, I'd rather have ".Trashes" being stored on the hard drive and never on the removeable storage or, like in Windows/Linux, not to have "undelete" information at all for removable storage.

Are there any settings on my Mac I could change to have it behave more to my liking?

thanks

NL

If you erase stuff from a card it is still on the card but will appear in the trash (in the finder) everytime you insert the card in your mac. To fully delete it from the card and reclaim space you need to empty your trash with the card still 'conencted' to your mac.
