Strange question maybe but I am new to Macs and just don't know the answer.
I have some friends who are impressed with my Imac and it is about time that they upgrade from their 4 year old laptop. However they spend about 4 months of the year traveling in a motor home and thus need a computer that is portable to a certain extent. However they have had problems with their laptop taking the pounding that it gets traveling. Does anyone know if it might be better to buy a Mac MINI and a lcd monitor to use. I assume that you could put an airport card into a MINI and the base unit is small enough not to take up much room and say a 15" monitor would be easily storable as well. Thinking that a combo like this might be hardier than a laptop and could serve well both in the home and on the road. Appreciate any thoughts or experiences in this.

I'd get laptop anyway.. Aluminum MBPs are quite tough and if you get a nice bag or sleeve to it, it's shouldn't break
