First, I'm relieved to discover I have yet to go completely mad, I thought my iPhone and iPad were charging faster with my 2010 unibody mini, than they were on other computers.
Turns out they are, according to an Apple support document (HT4049), select Apple devices can draw up to 1,100ma from the USB ports on Macs built after 2007. My question is, can it be kept "on" while the computer is sleeping, and/or be used for other devices? This document says the computer will revert to 500ma if sleep / standby is active, but I'd like to keep the extended operating current going.
Any ideas?
