My work has wireless access. I know the password and I connect but when I try to open a webpage it says it cant find the server. I know there is some sort of firewall but there must be something that I'm not doing right. Also, at college we have to download a client to check the system for viruses, anyway around this? obviously can't download onto touch.
Anyone know some solutions to either? Thanks

I'm not sure. But I'm almost positive my boss has an iphone and gets on the wifi. Although I dont want to ask how because he probably doesnt want me on my iPod touch at work.

Oh, if his works then its not 802.1x.. do you have to have a username/pass or just a pass?

I have the wifi password. But when I sign on to windows (desktops there) we need an id and password (if that has anything to do with it.)

Sounds like you're using some kind of proxy as well. In IE, look in the options to see if a proxy is configured. Tools/Options/Connection tab I believe (not on a windows machine at the moment).

I'm not sure if the iPod touch can use a proxy, since mine hasn't shipped yet

It supports proxy. On your IPT touch settings wifi and look at the bottom settings. Put your info in your set.
