Hey there.

I have a somewhat hard case for you all. Im just wondering if it is possible to get the images back :\

I am running Windows by the way...

Before i installed a new ioS on my iphone, i had an app that stored and protected images (password).

After the update i recovered everything, except this app, because it was now no longer on appstore. Now i want to restore the images from this app from my backup files. How do i do this?

Thanx a bunch!

It was called 'Privat Photo for Iphone', had a sunflower on the logo.
I think by 'Bluescreen team'

Backup was probably over icloud? Im not really sure.
I think i found all the backup files, but they are all gibberish.

example: 3c775f216c4b06534aa060a4ab196a31d2f4d992

App was: Private Photo Elite

I don't know if any of the apps in the image help, but if the photo's were stored in an app specific file format then you might be out of luck...Try opening one in Preview using the "Open As" command and see what happens.

Yea its none of those :\

The ipad version of the app still exists tho, 'Privat Photo for Ipad'

Anyway, i found the folder inside the backup and was able to extract it.

folder: cn.mmxd.privatephotoslite

however, none of the image files was in there. I found a thumbs.db file inside, which i opened in winrar then extracted the files, got a bunch of number files 01-90 etc. but all of them are only like 1-4 kb.
and a file called catalog.
I renamed the catalog file to .txt and opened it. Here i can actually see the filenames of the image files i want -.-

But have no idea where the images actually are, this is annoying.

Any tips or should i give up? :\

I had the same exact app, and still have it. Pretty sure it updated into this, it did for me at least... Use to be sunflower logo for me as well before updating to this.

Because of the nature of the app the files are likely encoded to prevent exactly what you were trying to do.

That said, you might be able to restore your iPhone backup to your iPad and get that version to open the data file
