Tried Changing iTunes Email

I changed my iTunes email from Hotmail to Gmail. However, when I try to purchase anything on my iPhone, the "Enter iTunes Password" menu pops up with the old Hotmail account. I try to enter the password, but because the account is no longer registered to Hotmail, of course it does not work. Should I backup my iphone, do a clean restore, and then reload a backup?

You need to update your changes on your iPhone too.

Settings
Store
Enter new gmail address

Then, whenever you try to buy something, it'll be linked to your gmail account instead of your hotmail account.
