First of all the development doesn't seem NEARLY as active as Chrome and it's just slower I feel... I do LOVE the Reading List but I'm not sure if that's enough for me to stay with it...

Has anyone else faced this dilemma?

Nope. I use the webkit nightly and it's leaps and bounds better than Chrome for some things. For others, I use Chrome.
