Tried to change iTunes icon, now its gone

when i copied and pasted the image i wanted in to where it goes in the info, the image above is what it now is in the preview, in the top left corner of the info box and in the dock. Any photo i change it to makes no difference, it is like it is stuck. How do I change it?

In the 'ctrl i' menus thing, click on the icon that you want to remove and press delete. It should default it back the the original icon.

now how do i get it changed to the new icon w/o it going to that same annoying image

An icns file alone won't do it, the file itself needs to have the icon as its icon in order to be able to copy and paste it.

An easy way to do it is using this app: http://osxiconeditor.phatcode.net/Pic2Icon.html
drag and drop the icns file into the converter and then proceed as normal.
