Any help here would be great guys.

So i tried to update my old iphone to software 2.0 so my wife could use it as
an ipod touch. After downloading the patch and syncing, itunes will not recognize the device. The phone itself has a message "No SIM card installed : INsert an unlocked and valid SIM to activate iphone"

Is there any way to 1) get itunes to recognize the phone again
2) update the software to 2.0 and put her stuff on it

thanks in advance for any help.
