I just bought a 2009 MBP and A 2008 MacBook unibody.

put in two identical Kingston 120gb SSDs

installed el capitan with apples thumb drive instructions and installer download.

everything working perfect.

i used magic disc to check speed performance and realised it wasn’t as fast as it could be or should be, then it occurred to me (it had been a long time) that I should enable trim!

I enabled trim with terminal and another instruction from some user online ‘fsck -fy’

when I rebooted, the performance increased substantially enough to notice the difference.

when I went to use Safari, the internet certificate was saying it was unsafe / out of date. On both MacBooks.

why did trim functions cause this? I had to turn off the certificate check in keychain access to get the web browser working on all websites again. Now I’m left wondering if I should do another fresh install? Would I have to enable trim all over again Or will it be working on a fresh install? How do avoid messing with the internet browser? I’d rather not turn off something that was working fine before in the certificates.

I don't think TRIM had anything to do with your Safari certificates being out of date.
