Quicktime Pro is great for editing .mov and even flash files

iMovie seems to only work with supported digital camcorders and .mov files.

Quicktime used to crash upon opening any .AVI file, i tried it all. I deleted quicktime, re-installed it, re-installed Perian

now it won't show video, just white screen, where as before it played the AVI with really distorted sound.

I am simply looking for a program capable of opening an AVI file, and trimming it (basic editing)

as for the actual playing, i can use VLC, i have no problem, but how can one edit on a mac?

Can someone please help me with this?

mpeg streamclip seems to work, Thanks!

and no, even with flip4mac and perian, Quicktime fails at .AVI files.(atleast for me)

it might be able to play one, but as soon as you attempt to seek, it stops responding
