Trimming Quicktime Movie

I have converted a DVD to a Quicktime movie, and now I'm trying to figure out a way to extract about 3 minutes from the movie and delete the rest (it's me performing as Elton John during the "Carnival Legends" show on a recent cruise).

Are there any free apps that can do this?

If you want to pay QuickTime Pro will do it, or MPEG Streamclip will do it for free.

i've been toying with streamclip for the past 10 minutes and can't figure it out. i see the "trim" option, but when i select it nothing happens.

help?
