So I am trying to triple boot osx, win7 and scientific linux. I went through partitioning and installing them all yesterday but it seems that my linux and linux swap are the 5th and 6th partition, which is problematic. I used the refit partition tool to update the mbr but since mbr has max 4 partitions my linux is out of reach and when I click it I boot into windows...

So I need to re-partition and restart but my question is what bumped my linux down to 5 when I only made 4...it should be efi, osx, win7, linux right? Is it the recovery partition?

It is in fact the recovery partition in the way:

/dev/disk0
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *500.1 GB disk0
1: EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1
2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 428.2 GB disk0s2
3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s3
4: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 40.0 GB disk0s4
5: Linux 30.0 GB disk0s5
6: Linux Swap 1.1 GB disk0s6

So what do I do? Can I get rid of the recovery partition?
