Tripwire/Unistaller/apps which inform of changes

What do people think of Tripwire and Uninstaller, or other similar applications? Especially Uninstaller... I'm not sure I trust it.

Apps which do this:

list changed file/folder content

Also does anyone have an opinion on MD5 checkers like CheckMate?

Tripwire has been around since the beginning of time, well almost. The commercial version is widely used in IT shops of all sizes to help secure their systems, along with host firewalls, etc. I highly recommend it. Be aware that any tool like this can have an impact on system performance if it isn't configured properly, especially on systems with very large numbers of files.
