Trivia: "iTunes 7" in iTunes 8 icon

[Simplicated]

I was grabbing the iTunes 8 icon from its .app, and found the icon remains unchanged since iTunes 7.

It says "Apple 2006", "iTunes 7", "?20806". (Attached)

It's not that important by the way, because I don't see icons in full 512x512. Even in 512x512 it's not noticeable. (That's why this is a trivia.)

Who knew? Maybe they were going to change the logo earlier but held off.
