OS X Tropico 4 for mac population cap?

I played tropico 4 on xbox 360 for a time, I love it but i hate the population capacity ,which is only 600 people . Now I consider buying the mac version but I don't know if the mac version has the same problem. searched for it everywhere but can't find it, hope someone could help me with this one.

The Mac (like the PC) has a population cap of 1200.

There are ways of removing this limit but it not supported on the PC (or the Mac) as any more than 1200 population can make the game unstable.

YOU can try these modding instructions (for the Mac you need to place the "Game" folder inside the Contents/Resources/Data folder inside your Tropico 4 app bundle) the rest of the instructions with the lua files should eb the same. As with all mods Feral offer no guarantees it will work (and I have not tested it myself) but you are welcome to try.
