Can somebody explain to me how to make an exact copy of a CD using Disk Utility?

Everytime I pick the CD and hit "new image" it asks me what size the image should be, if I want encryption, etc. I just want to make an exact clone of the CD.

Are you trying to copy an audio CD? Disk Utility won't do that for you. You need Toast or similar third-party software. Your other option is to import into iTunes (as lossless or AIFF) then re-burning, but even that doesn't make a 'clone' -- track spacings are not preserved.

Select the disc and then select "Make disc image from selection" or whatever the option is from the menu bar at the top (sorry, working from memory!). It should do the whole thing then - don't select the New Image button in the toolbar.

One other thing - what type of disc are you trying to copy? Disc Utility is very picky when it comes to commercial discs, but you'll have no problems with your own data CDs.
