New MacBook rocks and I purchased $60 in cables to hook it up to my Sanyo HDTV 1080p. I plug in the HDMI cable and the picture comes on. However, every once in awhile the screen goes black and it says "Signal Not Found." Also, every time I turn on the MacBook I have to unplug the HDMI cable, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in before it will detect the external display. I have tried "Detect Displays" but no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions to prevent this from happening or from easily detecting the external display without having to mess with the cables each time?

My Westinghouse 37" sometimes does that so I just power off the monitor and then power it back on and it fixes itself.

Worth a try.

On/Off Doesn't Work

Thanks for the tip. Gave it a try...no go. The MacBook screen refreshes like it's going to do something but then the TV comes up with "No Signal" as usual.
