I just got the pb g4 12" and I can't download using either safari or firefox. In the download window, its almost done downloading "99%" but then gets stuck and thats when the kb/sec go down and the time goes up but thats it - it never finishes downloading.

Any help is appreciated!

What type internet connection do you have?
Please supply a few more details if possible...

Panther/Tiger?
RAM
etc.

I am on a shared DSL connection-Using Airport to connect to a Linksys wireless router. There are 2 PCs connected to it already, and also an ibook.

On my powerbook, am using Tiger upgraded to 10.4.1.
512 mb Ram

It seems to allow smaller files, like around 1mb, but larger files 8mb and higher stall at the 98-99% range, and just sit'n'spin.

It happens with .dmg, .bin, from different sites-(apple, aol, versiontracker)

Am wondering if it may be a network problem,
or an "open with" problem-like it doesnt go on to open/unstuff the file once it's there, just stalls(but still, it never fully d/l's only 99% complete) so it's wierd right?????

Help!!!!!Thank you

Thanks for the tidbit on the wget - ill give it a try.

But it only seems to be a problem for the ibook and pb. the PCs seem to be downloading fine. any other conclusions?

thanks for the help!
