When I enter my wep key into my iphone (that looks like this: 151b8ef8bb68a82c2946ca1eb7) my iphone says it can not connect to the network. This wep key works in all the computers in my home. I don't have the passphrase for it and unfortunately can not make a new one.

I have tried putting a $ in front of it as well, no go.

Can anyone help, I can't obtain the passphrase, I just have the wep key so don't suggest I reset my router or obtain the passphrase. Maybe sshing in and changing somethinh would be an option

Thank you for any help at all!

I've seen several reports of people having issues with 128 bit (26 hex digits) WEP on the iPhone and iPod touch. Before I converted over to WPA, I was using WEP and the key length was 40 bits (10 HEX characters).

For a variety of security reasons people have moved away from WEP (despite the long key length there are defects that make it quite easy to deduce the key) and changed over to WPA.
