Hi, I'm replacing my friend's hard drive in her Macbook. I threw in a SATA drive I had laying around but the Leopard Installer does not recognize it. I have it formatted to HFS+ and the hard drive mounts if I plug it via USB into my computer. The drive won't even show up in Disk Utility off when in her Macbook.

Any advice? Does it need to be formatted in a different variant of HFS+? Maybe I haven't pushed it in enough?

Which Macbook is it, exact model, early/late 2008? And list the Hard Drive specs, 2.5"? 1.8"? model number, manufacturer etc.

I figured it out.

I was stupidly putting the drive back in upside down!
