For some reason, when I choose the sleep option from the apple drop down, my computer tries to go to sleep then immediately wakes back up. This seems to only happen when my external monitor is connected. When the computer isn't plugged into the monitor, it sleeps fine (if I close the lid). I guess the next thing I should check is if the drop down menu works when the computer isn't attached or closed.

Anyone have any advice?

Are you closing the lid of the computer as well as selecting sleep, or just selecting sleep?

I had a similar problem a few years back that was fixed with a firmware patch... but not quite sure about your problem...

The situation I'm talking about is when using it in clamshell mode. So the computer is closed already and then I'm selecting SLEEP from the dropdown.
