trouble reinstalling OS x

i have just replaced my hard drive and i am trying to install my snow leopard OS, only when i am asked to select the disk where i want to install it there is nothing to choose. please help. thank you in advance.

Go into Disk Utility and verify the disk is actually being registered please.
