Hello,

I installed iOS 8 on my iPad 2nd generation, but most of the Apps crash so I want to revert back to iOS 7. I have tried both simply basic restoring through iTunes (both on Mavericks, Yosemite) AND restoring to the iPad2,1_7.1_11D167_Restore.ipsw file found in the Dev Center. Neither work.

Any ideas?

You're trying to restore to 7.1. You need 7.1.1. Either find the ipsw for that, or as the other user suggest, try a dfu restore.

Hi, your issue is that the ispw at the dev center is for 7.1, not 7.1.1. If you upgraded to 7.1.1 Apple's servers won't let you install an older version. The ispw you want can be found at the link below, go into recovery mode and install it and things will work great.
