Hello,

Wednesday I installed the new 10.3.3 update to my G4 Powerbook, 15" 867mhz machine. At the same time I installed it on a G5 dual 2 gig processor machine.

the G5 works like a charm but my power book now fails to start up.

On restart the grey screen comes up with the apple icon and then the screen goes black and in the top left corner one line flickers, barely readable that says

"March 19, 14:22 init: single user shell terminated, restarting". It does this indefinately without ever actually restarting. I can start it up from the disk, and then change the start up disk to 9.2.2 and access the computer just fine. Additionally, I downloaded the 10.3.3 combo installer, but of course this won't work trying to install from OS 9.

I repaired permissions and the disk using disk utility on the startup disk and so far nothing has worked.

Additional information. I used Software update to down load the upgrade and at the same time a new safari upgrade was available. I selected to dow install both of them, the installation process choked on the safari 1.2.4??? or whatever it was. Could this be related?
