General Trouble Updating Server

Does anyone have problems with Restoring ? I've already downloaden the ipsw file for my iPhone 4. Select it and tried to restore. Now it says it can't reach the update servers ?

I’m seeing the same, and network-tools.com can’t reach those servers either.

This is yet another reason Apple’s “trusted-computing” paradigm is flawed and harmful to the user.

I should be able to restore my phone at any time (to any iOS version) without going through Apple (except possibly to download the relevant files.)

Unfortunately that is not the case, and my ability to restore my phone is, at present, contingent upon the whims of Apple. This is Wrong™ and should not be allowed. Once I own the device, I should be able to install any software I want.

The fact I am unable to do so, undermines the concept of “ownership”.

Went to my other Macbook, and tried it there. I suppose you just need to wait a little bit also ?
