My iMac froze up on me the other day and no remedies seemed to work - I decided instead to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS which was a pain as I had to load Snow leopard from disk - then upgrade to latest version of that before I could download another copy of Lion.
When I try to use migration assistant to migrate from my time machine backup it tells me I can't as it says the OS on my iMac is older than that in time machine - it tells me to upgrade to latest version - when I check software updates it says I am fully up to date so no idea what to do - if I try to just enter time machine and 'restore' all my apps etc it errors out during the process saying that apple scripts are incorrect..... can anyone help this fairly untechie gal so I don't have to jump on a bus with my iMac under my arm to get to a 'genius'???
