I was having trouble loading news and sports apps on 3G in places where I was able to do so before. Worked OK on Edge and Wi-Fi. I contacted AT&T dialing 611 and was put through to the iPhone support desk (ran by Apple). After explaining the problem she suggested I turn off 3G (General-Network) then turn off the iPhone. Next, I was told to turn it back on and if Edge loaded OK (it did) to turn back on 3G.

My news app loaded right away and then the phone began trying to seek a signal. After a couple of minutes I turned it off then on again and it found 3G right away—all apps now loading great. Problem fixed. :)
