My airport extreme base station works fine in wifi, but when I connect something to the ethernet ports, the wifi cuts out continuously. However, the guest wifi network still works. When I reboot the airport, it works briefly, then starts cutting out again. If I remove the wired connection to the ethernet port, the wifi begins working normally. Is there a setting that I need to adjust?

When the device connects to the ethernet port, it works, but the wifi won't, and vice/versa.

What kind of devices are you connecting? Are any of them routers that can be doing conflicting networks?

I have all three ports connected to devices without issue. Your WAN (uplink to your service provider) is connected to the O port right?

It it overheating?

I have a directv dvr connected to the ethernet port.

Yes, I have my TWC modem connected to the Wan port to supply my internet.

I don't think it is overheating.

You could try a full factory reset. You have to apply all your settings after this, but sometimes it helps so it might be worth a try.

Thanks for your response. This is what I did, and it seems to be working.
