I just did a complete reinstall of OS X and had some troubles migrating my user so I've had to manually restore most of my files. For some reason Apple Mail is acting up a lot so I'm thinking about just resetting it to like "Default" settings and start again. I just copied the Mail folder at first and I don't think OS X liked that.

I have an IMAP mail server so I can delete all the locally stored emails without a problem. Can I just completely nuke the "Mail" folder found in my Home Library? Or are there some files that I need to keep for proper functionality?

If you don't mind losing any mail you had saved locally, you can nuke the mail folder in your library without any ill effects.

Thanks! That did the trick. Thank god I have an IMAP mail server or my emails could've been lost.
