Hi,
I am trying to edit a mpeg-4 video with iMovie. Before I import the video it previews just fine, and I can play the movie with quicktime. But when I actually go ahead and import the video, all I get in the film strips in the bottom is a still image of the opening clip. The sound is fine but the video that corresponds with it will not play. I thought it might be because the vid was mp4, but I read that iMovie has no problems with mp4's and it plays in quicktime just fine.
I should also mention that the video was downloaded from vimeo onto my desktop (with permission from my director of course) and not added directly from a device.
I just bought my first mac ever (pro) a few days ago. I'm definitely still getting used to this new operating system. Sorry if I sound like a complete dummy. Thanks a million in advance for any help you can offer.
