trouble with itunes 9

Has anyone had trouble with itunes 9 ?

I keep getting a can't connect to apple errors although my firefox browser
works fine, that's how I was able to download the beast in the first place.

I've uninstall and re installed three times and tried the suggested fixes to
no avail.

I tried re installing itunes 8 but I get a dll error when I try to start it.

Very frustrating

I un-installed everything apple and re-installed itunes 8.
* works fine as before.
I'll wait until itunes 10 and try again
