I use the iTunes remote app with my MacBook, and it works fine when I am on my home network. I also use it on stage when I am playing out to trigger musical things that happen in iTunes as part of songs we perform. Lately though I have had a problem. When I am on stage, I am successful in connecting both my iPhone and MacBook to the WiFi LAN, however, when I attempt to access my MacBook iTunes Library, my iPhone displays a passcode and says I need to look under Devices in iTunes on my MacBook and find my phone and connect it. But my phone isn't showing up on iTunes on my MacBook.

I don't ever have to do this step when I am on my home network, and it just works; I am wondering what is going wrong when I am on another network.

Does anyone have any insights?

Regards,

JK
