Trouble with Mail app

So i just replaced my old MP with a nice iMac and got to the point of importing my mobile-me me mail, but every time i open mail so that it can import and auto set up with my account it gets stuck on importing message 2699. It just gets stuck and doesn't move, i tried fixing partitions, restarting, but nothing works.

Now i have to use Thunderbird, which I hate.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure I'm understanding, so this might be unhelpful. Could you just delete the offending message from the old system (or wherever it currently is) before importing your mail to your new machine?

I have no idea what this message is, I have two .me accounts and I can't exactly figure out what message coresponds to the message number...
