Updated my wife's iPhone 4 before she went on a business trip. The version is 1.8.2. Should be the lastest. Then troubles started. First, the augmented reality feature always turns on every few seconds. Need to keep pressing the Back button. Then, there is no turn by turn voice over.

It worked before with version 1.70. The iPhone is still running 4.2.1.

Any ideas?

BTW, the Navigon was purchased from the app store. Not a cracked version.

She is still on the trip. Need my help to do all the technical work. :)

Have you tried uninstalling it and re-download it?

This, unfortunately, is your best solution. Unfortunate because it will take forever to download directly to the phone via wifi--won't download at all over 3G.

Version 1.8.2 should be fine with firmware 4.2.1; I took a trip recently with exactly that setup and had zero issues. But do check the most recent reviews for your version of the app. If there's a widespread problem, it will often be posted there by others.

I keep motionX gps drive as a backup just incase navigon decides to act funny. It's only 99. I had some drop signal issues on 4.2.1 JB, that's about it.
