Trouble with new BlackMac Airport

I had (have) an older White MacBook and have purchased a new (faster) BlackMacBook. I have a Time Capsule for my base station/internet connection. The white MacBook shows full signal on my Airport signal strength. Conversely, the BlackMac is intermittent in signal strength and drops out at times. Both comupters are running Leopard Ver. 10.5.4 Any ideas? I can take it back and get it "fixed" but, I am a tinkerer and would love to figure it out without losing it for a few weeks.
