Trouble with Quicktime on 10.10.1

I recently discovered, that Quicktime is not longer working on the iMac (10.10.1). When I click the icon, it just opens an empty folder. I cannot find where to download it from, help please?

I'm now trying to delete the version that is there, but it won't let me trash it, because it says it's open. I don't see it open anywhere, what am I doing wrong?
